Pimp Your Pumps
Decorating the Petrol Station
|
Petrol stations everywhere have one important thing in common: branding! |
 |
We have made a printable PDF featuring signage and advertising, to help you decorate your Petrol Station. |
 |
Petrol Station Windows and Signs (779kB)... |
It includes faces for the fuel pumps and inserts for the windows, both with a number of different brands and colours, as well as a variety of advertising signs and movie posters.
All of the items are very simple to use: simply cut them out carefully and glue them in place with PVA white glue. You can use as few or as many of the pieces as you like.

Chris Paints his Petrol Station |
Chris Townley from the Battlefront studio decided to go further and paint his petrol station with |
He used masking tape to mask off areas, before applying the three colours – white, then yellow, then red – with his airbrush. This an excellent way to get a nice even coverage of colour, while also getting crisp, straight lines. It's important to leave each colour to dry thoroughly before masking for the next stage, to make sure the tape doesn't pull off paint that hasn't cured fully. |
Chris has also made a base for his petrol station, painted with car park markings (we'll try to get him to share more on the process of making this in a later article). |
