I’ve finally finished my Hinds!

Those of you have been following the launch weekend will have seen the slow progress that I’ve been making on my Hinds. I keep getting distracted by other projects.

I decided on doing Polish hinds simply because of the cool colour scheme.  What I really liked was the different colour scheme, the cool markings and the main rotors with the leading edges painted white. The other attraction for paint them Grey and green was to make them look different to the green and yellow colour scheme that I’m using for the rest of my army.

The rest of my army is going to be Soviet T-64s, just fighting under friendly skies.

For the markings I used a combination of Decals. The polish symbols were custom printed decals, the eyes on the air intakes are from the SU-25 decal sheet, the tail boom numbers came from WWII German decal sheets, and the warning markings came from the Hind decal sheet.

The main fuselage didn't actually take that long to paint, it took more time to do the decals and weathering, despite wanting to knock them out quickly. They are probably slightly over weathered compared to reality, but I like the style. A mate of mine also pointed out that the airforce has a saying about helicopters, "If they aren’t leaking oil, it means they’re out of oil”.

Next up I’ll paint 16 T-64s and some BRDM-2s to complete the Army.
