Army Group Centre Field Status Report

Mein Fuhrer,
Soviet forces have committed their reserves and stymied my generals’ initial counterattacks.

I have been receiving disturbing reports of British troops in the region striking the pioneers of the 36th Infantry Division during their attempt to break through to Vitebsk. The pioneers have been all but destroyed. The British dogs were able to overrun our retreating forces in Bykhov and cut of supply to Orsha. This, however, did not stop General Duncan from pushing forward into Chausy. We now threaten the city of Krichev and have the chance to cut off one of the Soviets primary supply points.

Unfortunately, General Hayden proved to be out of his depth with the tasks given him. Due to a mixture of incompetence and possible cowardice, Hayden allowed Soviet troops to breach the defences of Orsha and the city is currently flush with Red Army troops. However, we are confident that we can reclaim Orsha and I shall put my more decorated generals on the task during the coming fight.

In the Southern sector the remnants of the pioneer battalion from the 36th Infantry division was attacked while undergoing restructuring. The Soviets then forced their way into the territory of Zholbin.

My spies inform me that the Soviets have committed there entire reserve to the front and it has become a battle of quantity vs. quality. It us with some urgency that I respectfully request some fresh units to be sent to us as I fear the sheer numbers may debilitate my forces beyond there ability to remain as an effective fighting force.

As ever your loyal servant,
