Operation Nordic Lion 2025 - Event Report

Nordic Lion 2025 Operation Nordic Lion 2025 - Event Report
By Antti Arajarvi

The third ever Operation Nordic Lion tournament was fought on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of February at the Parola Armour Museum.

Antti brings us a report straight from the front lines of this amazing event.

Like last year, players had 4 games divided to two days with three hours per game. But unlike the previous years,
this years missions were predetermined for each round and players knew which mission was being played on each round.

Missions were randomly rolled by the organiser from a preselected set of missions. Given that all the Forces were to have atleast one Tank Formation, the matrix didn't include missions with Deep Scattered Delayed Reserves.

Points for the year were set to 110 points.

With 14 players showing up on the morning of Saturday we were set to go. Missions for day one were Probe for Game 1 and Hold the Pocket for Game 2. The players rolled to see who'd be the attacker in each round and fought with tooth and nail. We saw cheerful moments and moments of disbelief when the hoped reserves shoped up in the wrong or right place (depending on point of view). After day one the scores were very even and everything was up for grabs. So the second day of the tournament would be interesting.

On Sunday we resumed and the mission for Game 3 was Encounter and Game 4 was Valley of Death.. Again no quarter was given, nor asked as the forces clashed and tanks burned.

The 3 hour per game timelimit was mostly enough for every game, with only a few games ending in a draw during the tournament. But at the end of the fourth game we had our result which were nothing what they looked like after Day 1.

The Results

1st place Oskari
2nd place Martin
3rd place Jaakko
Best Painted Ludvig
Best Sportsman Martin
